Choral Hall (July 14 and 15, 1910)


Carreño appeared at Choral Hall in Auckland, New Zealand as part of the Australasian 1910 tour. On July 14, 1910 she performed Sonata in B Minor, op. 58 (Chopin, Fryderyk), Rondo, op. 51, no. 2 (Beethoven, Ludwig van), Vogel als Prophet (Prophetic Birds) (Schumann, Robert), Erl König (The Erl King) (Schubert, Franz (arr. Liszt)), Concerto in B-flat Minor, with orchestral accompaniment on second piano (Tchaikovsky, Peter Ilich), Romanza, E-flat; Barcarolle, G Major, “Fausse Note” Etude (Study on “False Notes”) (Rubinstein, Anton).

On July 15, 1910 she performed Sonata, op. 31, no. 3 (Beethoven, Ludwig van), Etudes symphoniques (Schumann, Robert), Grand Concerto in A Minor, op. 16, with orchestral accompaniment on second piano (Grieg, Edvard), Nocturne (Tchaikovsky, Peter Ilich), Etude “Am Seegestade” (Smetana, Bedrich), and La campanella (Paganini, Niccolò (arr. Liszt)). Benno Scherek provided orchestral accompaniment on the second piano. The concert began at 8:15 pm.
