Garrison Hall (June 20 and 22, 1910)

Description

Carreño appeared at Garrison Hall in Dunedin, New Zealand as part of the Australasian 1910 tour. On June 20, 1910 she performed Sonata op. 31, no. 3 (Beethoven, Ludwig van), Etudes symphoniques (Schumann, Robert), Grand Concerto in A Minor, op. 16, with orchestral accompaniment on second piano (Grieg, Edvard), Nocturne (Tchaikovsky, Peter Ilich), Etude “Am Seegestade” (Smetana, Bedra), and La campanella (Paganini, Niccolò (arr. Liszt)).

On June 22, 1910 she performed Sonata, op. 53 (Beethoven, Ludwig van), Nocturne, op. 48, Etude, A-flat, Ballade, G Minor, Tarantelle (Chopin, Fryderyk), Concertstueck, with orchestral accompaniment on second piano; Melodie; Barcarolle, F minor (Rubinstein, Anton), and Marche militaire (Schubert, Franz (arr. Tausig)). Benno Scherek performed orchestral accompaniment on the second piano for both concerts. Carreño performed on a Bechstein piano. The concerts began at 8:15 pm.
